We are enthusiastic about teaching in general, to say nothing of teaching Chinese for foreigners. Language is a tool to communicate with people and to enable people to understand each other. From our standpoint, learning a language is a function of our daily life rather than being taught from text books. Teaching and learning both promote and enhance an understanding between teacher and students. It will be fun to learn Chinese with our team!
Our teaching approach
Our teaching approach is based on a teaching system called "Total Physical Response" whereby teachers say a word and demonstrate an action, and the learners follow the action until they feel comfortable saying the word.
Our TeachersAll our teachers are professional, caring, experienced native mandarin speakers from Taiwan & China. All our teachers have fluent English and are patient, friendly and very used to teaching children.
Having taught hundreds of students of all levels since 2006, all have been trained as professional Chinese language teachers and all have CRB clearance to work with children.
I have a Certificate for Teaching Mandarin as a Second Language, Access Language accreditation in Mandarin and I have been teaching in the UK since 2006. I'm currently teaching Mandarin in a part-time role at the Knightsbridge School, an independent co-educational preparatory school in the heart of Knightsbridge. I have extensive teaching experience at both primary and high school in my home country and graduated with an MA in Counselling from the University of Nottingham. I have taught Mandarin to different age groups and abilities of English speakers. They take the courses for pleasure, travelling, business or academic purposes. I've taught Mandarin from beginners to advanced level. I can understand the difficulties of learning Chinese for English learners. In addition, the most important factor for being a teacher is passion. Without teaching with passion a lesson can never be enjoyable for the student. As a teacher, I create a fun and enjoyable environment that enables students to practice their skills quickly and confidently.
